A kind of Lozenge

I posted a question a few days earlier on this blog. The question was....

"If you take a rod two inches in diameter and cut it[in half] by drilling a two inch hole through it. what is the shape of the metal that is removed ?"

The answer :
The object has a round profile from the top, a round profile from one side and a square profile from the other.

Silverine: Its tough to explain. You have to imagine it. I shall try explaining, but in case you dont get it, I would suggest try the experiment with some chappathi dough. :)
But it works!

Imagine the rod, which is a cylinder, i.e. top view - square, front view - square, lateral view - circle. Now after having imagined this object, imagine drilling a circular hole from the front view i.e a square face. The hole is of the same diameter as the cylinder.
The shape of the object that was drilled out is a lozenge.. i.e. top view - square, front view - circle, lateral view - circle. Did you get it ???
